As a home stager and interior stylist, my role is to enhance or transform the interior of a home by bringing in stylish furniture and accessories. I recently had an opportunity to be involved in decorating a low-income housing project for a family in need. I belong to a local chapter of RESA (Real Estate Staging Association) and we partnered with Girls Giving Back, a non-profit organization that transforms and supports the local shelter community. We had a one-day assignment to fully decorate and stock a home for a mom and her teen son. There was a lot of planning and prepping to do before the BIG day, but we completed our task and were able to take a home that was run down with barely any furniture and transform it into a beautiful, comfortable and well-stocked home with plenty of food and supplies. Although we never met the family who moved in (privacy reasons), our hearts were filled knowing they were sleeping in a clean, nicely furnished and safe home. See below for BEFORE and AFTER photos.
